Cyprus Rally: 3rd place for Zacharias Manoli in IRC 2WD Driver?s Cup

Local Honda Civic Type R driver Zacharias Manoli secured 3rd place in the final result of the Cyprus Rally, the 13th and last round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge 2012.

After the first day of competition, Zacharias and co-driver Andreas Varnakides were standing 4th in 2WD, behind Briton Hunt, Hungarian Krozser and young Cypriot Panikos Polykarpou.

Zacharias? local knowledge and previous experience were invaluable. ?I know the gravel stages very well and that the only way to finish is to drive carefully. The retirement of Krozser helped me to climb up to this final 3rd position and to score enough points in the Cyprus Championship.?

Thanks to the third place of Zacharias Manoli, Honda secured the second place in the final standing of the 2WD Manufacturer?s Cup.

After six years of competition at the highest level, the Cyprus Rally marked the end of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge. With agreement from the FIA, Eurosport Events will now promote the new European Rally Championship. The ERC starts on January 3 and 5 with the J?nnerrallye in Austria.
