but tough weekend for West Coast Racing in TCR Bahrain

The JAS built Honda Civic WTCC cars showed great race pace at the first 2016 WTCC event at Le Castellet France this weekend with 2012 World Champion Rob Huff racing to victory in his first race for the Castrol Honda World Touring Car Championship Team.  Huffy also set the weekend’s fastest lap on his way to take the chequered flag. Norbert Michelisz brought his Civic home third with Tiago Monteiro finish a strong fourth. In the second race Tiago battled to the very last metres taking second place with Norbi third for his second podium visit of the weekend. Rob was pushed off the circuit early in the race but drove magnificently through the field to sixth overall, earning the team further Championship points. Honda leads the Manufacturers Championship heading to round 2 of the WTCC at the SlovakiaRing in two weeks time.

Tough weekend for West Coast Racing in TCR Bahrain.

It was a difficult weekend for the three JAS built TCR Civics of West Coast Racing at the Bahrain Grand Prix TCR International race. Gianni Morbidelli took second place in Race 1 with new-comers Aku Pellinen fifth. Race 2 saw Kevin Gleason’s Civic hold the lead from Pellinen until the halfway mark with Morbidelli come up from his lower reverse grid slot. The Italian and the American came together with just two laps to go and eliminated each other. Pellinen finished a creditable 3rd on the road but was penalised 30 seconds for a jump-start.
