Civic Type R TCR wins while NSX GT3 Evo 22 takes podium
The Honda Civic Type R TCR scored its maiden TCR Panama victory on a weekend on which a podium finish for the NSX GT3 Evo 22 in Britain added more success for JAS Motorsport-built racing cars.
TCR Panama
Sebastian Ng scored the Civic Type R TCR's maiden series win in a chaotic night race at Autodromo Panama on Saturday.
Having qualified second earlier in the day, the AP Racing driver made his way to the front and triumphed by eight seconds.
Added to fourth spot in the opener, he now sits just one point away from the series lead with two rounds completed. ART's Gianni Alessandria finished eighth in the opener.
British GT Championship
The debut of the NSX GT3 Evo 22, which JAS Motorsport will continue to support customers with during the rest of its current homologation cycle, scored a podium finish on its championship debut at Donington Park.
Bridger Motorsport, who were also making their first appearance in the series, qualified second in the GT3 Silver-Am category and led early on through Johnny Ip; the Hong Kong racer trading the advantage with his nearest rival several times.
While the advantage was lost in the mid-race pitstops, co-driver Luke Garlick maintained a solid pace to reach the finish in second place.
