Continued Success for JAS Honda Civics on the Rough-And-Tumble Rally Roads of South America
Jaime Ortiz Maintains Series Lead in Paraguay
A solid finish in the latest round of the 2015 Paraguayan Rally Championship allows Jaime Ortiz to maintain his category championship lead in the JAS Honda Civic. Ortiz battled through tough conditions in an event that was foreshortened due to road damage caused by heavy rains. After finishing fourth on the Rally de la Madera, the third round of the series, Ortiz now looks forward to the classic Transitapua Rally held near the Argentinian border at the end of June.
JAS Honda Civics were to be seen in other points scoring positions too at this event, which started and finished near Caaguaazu. Luis Maldonado (h) was the overnight leader of the two-wheel-drive category and class five, before finishing in a splendid second place, only 49 seconds behind the class winner.
Meanwhile, in the Rally de Porvenir, a qualifying round of the regional Magallanes Championship, businessman Eugenio Villicic scored a dominant class win in the S2000 category in a JAS Honda Civic. Villicic maintains an overall lead in this category within the championship, following a tough event through the rugged Patagonian landscape.
