Dominant double for Civic Type R TCR in Spain

The Honda Civic Type R TCR scored its first wins of 2025 thanks to a dominant display by ALM Motorsport and Ruben Volt in the TCR Spain Winter Series at Valencia.

The JAS Motorsport-built car - which won the coveted TCR Model of the Year Award in 2024 after an astonishing season that included its 500th race win and its 100th major championship success - was untroubled through the weekend.

Volt qualified on pole position on Saturday while Auto Club RC2 Valles driver Felipe Fernandez made it an all-Honda front row.

The duo pulled away from the rest of the field throughout Saturday's opening race, never separated by more than two seconds, until Fernandez lost a wheel on the final lap, ensuring a 31-second victory for Volt.

Fernandez was penalised for a false start in Race Two; a getaway that had allowed him to lead until Volt passed him four laps in. He fell to sixth as a result of his penalty.

RC2 team-mate Sandro Pelatti - racing a Civic for the first time - was fifth in both races while Victor Fernandez, who did not start on Saturday, finished seventh in Race Two.
