Double championship joy in TCR Brasil

The JAS Motorsport-built Honda Civic Type R TCR scored a pair of major championship successes last weekend as Leonel Pernia and Honda Racing won the TCR Brasil Drivers’ and Teams’ titles.

Victory for Pernia’s team-mate and son, Tiago, in the opening race of a weekend that also counted for TCR South America points, and pole position for fellow Honda Racing driver Nelson Piquet Jr made for a superb weekend at Velocitta.

Adrian Chiriano – already confirmed as the champion in the Copa Trophy division, took pole and a win in the class too on a day that marked the 128th and 129th titles for the Civic Type R TCR.

There was also a pole and win in Super Taikyu’s ST-TCR division for M&K Racing at Autopolis and a double class victory for MM Motorsport’s Marco Pellegrini in TCR Italy at Mugello.
