Double podium for NSX GT3 Evo on Chinese race debut
The NSX GT3 Evo claimed a double-podium finish as it competed in China for the first time last weekend.
The second round of the Pan-Delta Racing Festival's Circuit Hero series at Zhuhai was the venue and Naomi Zhang was the driver of the car run by the TRC team that had previously won the Circuit Hero 2 title with the Civic Type R TCR.
Zhang, who had previously raced in the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia, was making her debut in both the NSX and the Pan-Delta Series.
She was third-fastest in the Supercar A class in practice and qualifying and drove well in both 10-lap sprint races to collect two podium finishes.
All three cars were competing as part of the NSX GT3 Customer Racing Programme; a global collaborative project with JAS Motorsport responsible for assembly of all cars.
Honda Performance Development (HPD) and M-TEC handle sales and technical support in North America and Japan respectively, with JAS responsible for these areas across the rest of the world.
Stefano Fini, JAS Motorsport NSX GT3 Project Leader, said: "We were delighted when we had the news that we would be sending an NSX GT3 Evo to China and even happier that TRC - a team that has a long history of running JAS Honda Civic Type R TCRs - are running it. For her first time in the car, Naomi did a good job and we look forward to hearing about the progress of this programme through the rest of the year."
