Double win in Chinese Taipei for Honda Civic Type R TCR

The Honda Civic Type R TCR delivered a superb double win in the latest round of TCR Chinese Taipei at Lihpao as the JAS Motorsport-built car swept the top five positions in both races.

A first series win for You Yihao and Border Racing and a Race Two victory for Liming Racing's Gao Zilong put the icing on the cake for the car.

It was Zilong who struck first as he took pole position on Saturday morning, but the Liming driver started badly and spent the remainder of the race fighting back to second place behind Zilong and ahead of Team-AAI's Shi Shiwei.

Yihao and Shiwei became embroiled in a fascinating battle for the lead of Race Two and swapped places several times at around one-third distance.

Shiwei looked to have made a decisive move, only to run wide and let Yihao draw alongside. Contact spun Yihao around and dropped him down the order while Shiwei continued.

Shiwei held the lead until running wide in the final stages of the penultimate lap under braking. This allowed Zilong through to a win that put him into the championship lead.

Liming Racing won Class B in both races; Wu Yizhan and Chen Geoping victorious on each of the days and Geoping taking third overall on Sunday; the recovering Yihao in fifth.
