First title success of 2026 for Honda Civic Type R TCR
The Honda Civic Type R TCR scored its first major championship title of 2026 – and the 126th in total for the JAS Motorsport-built touring car – last weekend as Adrian Chiriano clinched the TCR Brasil Trophy crown at Cuiaba.
The Honda Racing driver scored a category pole position for both TCR Brasil and the concurrently-run TCR South America races, and then bagged a win and a second-place result.
While that was enough to clinch the Brasil title, the South America series still has more than half a season to run. Team-mate Leonel Pernia won the opening TCR Brasil race and heads the South America standings.
There was success at Monza too as JAS Motorsport Development Driver Ramiro Zago clinched his second TCR Italy overall win in as many events for MM Motorsport; the youn Argentinian also scoring a double success in the Rookie and Under-25s categories.
