Five podiums for JAS Motorsport customer teams

JAS Motorsport customer racing teams scored five podium finishes on a weekend on which the Honda Civic Type R TCR and NSX GT3 Evo 22 remained in contention for three major championship crowns.

Kumho FIA TCR World Tour

Ignacio Montenegro scored his first series podium finish by taking third place on the punishing Vila Real street circuit.

The GOAT Racing driver ran in contention for victory throughout Sunday's second race and avenged the memories of the opener, when a starting-procedure infringement led to a drive-through penalty that dropped him to ninth in the results.

Team-mate Esteban Guerrieri qualified and finished third in Race One and added sixth later in the day to remain second in the Drivers' Championship as recent Balance of Performance (BoP changes once again affected the Civic's overall performance.

A crash in qualifying limited GOAT Dusan Borkovic to 14th on the grid, but he rebounded to take ninth - and points - in Race Two. Marco Butti's best finish was 13th.

Thailand Super Series

NSX GT3 Evo 22 duo Piti Bhirombhakdi and Kantasak Kusiri moved into a clear Supercar GT3 championship lead with a double podium on the streets of Bangsaen.

The Singha Motorsport Team Thailand duo - who are seeking back-to-back titles - shared the series lead coming into the weekend, but a spin early in a wet opening race for Bhirombhakdi threatened their position as he fell to last place.

But a stirring recovery brought him back up to fifth by the time of the mandatory driver changes and Kusiri continued the recovery as the finished third.

Bhirombhakdi was the hero on Sunday, taking over the wheel in fourth place and charging forwards to snatch second place with just two of the 60 minutes remaining.

Super Taikyu

M&K Racing returned to the series at Fuji for the first time since the Motegi season-opener in March and immediately showed their performance as Mitsuhiro endo and Shinji Nakano combined to put the #97 Civic Type R TCR on ST-TCR pole position.

Joined by co-drivers Jack Young and Kento Omiya, the quartet ran competitively throughout the four hours and finished second.

Their team-mates Koji Yamanishi, Osamu Kondo and Yosuke Yamaki were fourth.
