Honda Civic Type R TCR FL5 sores first Japanese win
The new Honda Civic Type R TCR FL5 scored its first win on home soil during the weekend as JAS Motorsport-built cars recorded a one-two finish in Japan's Super Taikyu series at Autopolis.
M&K Racing's trio of Mitsuhiro Endo, Yusuke Mitsui and Tosei Moriyama put the new car - which was making its Japanese race debut - on pole position in the ST-TCR class on Saturday and dominated the five-hour race to win by nine laps.
Following them home was the similarly M&K-run FK7 model, entered under the AI Racing banner and driven by Masato Mitsuhiro, Shion Tsujimoto and Kazuhiro Sakai.
In the leading ST-X class for GT3 machinery, KCMG continued their season with a consistent run to fifth place with their NSX GT3 Evo 22 driven by Paul Ip, Marchy Lee and Ho-Pin Tung.
