HUFF STORMS TO DOMINANT POLE POSITION IN MACAU

Gleason Also Impresses to Secure Front Row of the Grid for JAS- Prepared Civics

Former world champion Rob Huff amply underlined the full performance characteristics of the JAS-prepared Honda Civic TCR by setting a blistering lap time during  qualifying at the Guia Race of Macau.

Huff, who was appearing as a guest team driver on this last weekend of competition for the fledgeling TCR international series, had showed his initial pace in free practice, but went on to set a time that was well clear of the rest of the pack during the second qualifying session.

Rob also demonstrated his knowledge of the technical and narrow Macau circuit, where he had previously been successful and must be regarded as the favourite for honours during Saturday's races.

Teammate Kevin Gleason  also enjoyed his share of the limelight however, as he was able to set the faster qualifying time in the first session. The American backed that up in his JAS- prepared Civic, setting the closest time to the flying Huff in the second session and therefore lining up alongside on the front row of the grid.

Gianni Morbidelli was unable to take part in free practice due to a technical issue and was therefore coming to terms with the setup of the car during qualifying. He will start sixth on the grid.

Saturday was certainly a day to celebrate for JAS Motorsport, as Michael Choi secured the title of TCR Asia champion in his Civic, following the end of the qualifying session.
