Inotsume completes TCR Japan title double with Civic Type R TCR

Anna Inotsume clinched the Honda Civic Type R TCR's 13th major title of 2023 as she became TCR Japan Sunday Series Champion at Sugo.

The Hagoromo 6 Dome Racing driver qualified second for the season finale; the four bonus points scored being enough to put matters beyond doubt. She then ran consistently to finish second in her JAS Motorsport-built car.

Inotsume, who claimed the Saturday Series title at the previous round, finished fourth in Race One. Having run third through the opening two thirds of the race, she was squeezed into the pit wall by a rival and ran off the track at the first corner, losing ground.

Mototino's 55Moto Racing Civic was spun off at the first corner of Race One, but recovered to sixth and its driver added fourth in Race Two to seal second spot in the Sunday standings and complete a season of domination by JAS-built Hondas.

J's Racing's Junichi Umemoto finished the two races seventh and fifth.
