Max Hart named JAS Motorsport Supported Driver, confirms TCR Europe programme
JAS Motorsport are delighted to appoint Irishman Max Hart as an official supported driver for the 2026 season.
As part of his role with JAS, the 24-year-old from County Wicklow will race a Honda Civic Type R TCR with the ultra-successful ALM Motorsport team in TCR Europe.
Max began racing in Formula Vee single-seaters in his home country aged 16, winning the Star of Tomorrow title. He was runner-up in the UK Mono 1000 series the following year and scored a podium in a one-off appearance in Formula 4 South East Asia.
Switching to touring car racing in 2020, he became a race winner in his debut season in TCR UK and finished third in the standings.
He later raced in TCR China and TCR Asia, claiming race wins in both series – including a victory on the ultra-demanding Macau street circuit in 2023 – and fighting hard for the TCR Asia title in ’24 before eventually taking third in the points.
Max returned to his home continent in 2025, becoming a race winner in TCR Europe and only narrowly missing out on the title at the final event of the season.
As a JAS Motorsport Supported Driver, Max’s duties will include working with, testing and coaching for customer Honda Civic Type R TCR teams and drivers.
Previous JAS Motorsport Supported Drivers include former TCR Europe champion Josh Files, seven-time TCR title winner Ignacio Montenegro and UK drivers Daniel Lloyd and Jack Young, who were both title contenders in TCR Europe and TCR China.
Max’s TCR Europe programme with ALM Motorsport unites him with a crack Estonian team that has won 13 major titles and almost 40 races with the Honda Civic Type R TCR, including the TCR Europe Teams’ crown in 2024.
Max Hart said: “I’m extremely proud both to become a JAS Motorsport Supported Driver and to announce this exciting programme with ALM Motorsport. Working so closely with JAS Motorsport is going to be super-beneficial for me and I plan to learn everything I can to help my progression as a driver and to help them with their testing and their customer programmes. Racing with ALM Motorsport – who are a fantastic and ultra-professional team – puts me in the best position possible to fight for the TCR Europe title and I couldn’t be looking forward to the season any more…”
Mads Fischer, JAS Motorsport TCR Project Leader, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Max to the JAS Motorsport family and to see him positioned with a fantastic championship-winning team like ALM Motorsport as he bids to win in TCR Europe in 2026. Max is a driver who has raced in TCR championships all over the world and won races in all of them – including on one of the most demanding circuits of all on the streets of Macau. We’ve seen previous JAS Motorsport Supported Drivers, like Ignacio Montenegro and Josh Files, win major TCR championships, so we know that the formula works and that a talented driver like Max can take full advantage of the opportunity he now has.”
