Povlsen wins Civic Type R TCR’s latest title in Denmark

The Honda Civic Type R TCR sealed its fourth major title of the season in unusual circumstances in Denmark, while a double win in Chinese Taipei continued the JAS Motorsport-built touring car's run of success.

TPR Motorsport's Rene Povlsen became champion in the Trophy category for semi-professional racers, despite Ring Djursland's three races being cancelled due to barrier damage caused by an incident in morning warm-up.

It is the 94th major championship won by the Civic Type R TCR in global motorsport while Honda cars or drivers are in contention for all of the other four crowns on offer in the Danish series this year.

Povlsen's team-mate, series leader Mike Halder, scored his first pole position of the season to extend the Civic Type R TCR's unbeaten run in qualifying in 2024. Mascot Motorsport with RaceGroup's Gustav Birch topped the Under-25s class.

TCR Chinese Taipei

Gao Zilong increased his points advantage with a double victory at Lihpao as Liming Racing dominated the penultimate round of the season.

Zilong qualified second but sprinted into the lead at the start of the opening race and was never headed as he beat 2023 champion Shi Shiwei of Team AAI, polesitter You Yihao of Border Racing and Liming's CJ Huang to the chequered flag.

While the top four finishers in Race Two were the same, the race was closer as Shiwei and Yihao stayed locked on Zilong's tail until the final two laps.

Yu Wizhan won Class B in both races from pole in the second Liming car, which helped the outfit to extend its lead in the Teams' points and helped Wizhan to close in on the category lead to Border's Huang Sijia, who was second both times.

Ruben Volt scored a double podium on his series debut as the Estonian joined series regulars M&S Racing for the final round of the season.

Qualifying third, he climbed to second early in Saturday's opening race and remained part of a three-way fight for victory until lapped traffic got in the way on the penultimate lap and ruined his chances as he finished third.

Race Two was near-identical with another third-place finish while team-mate Gary Kwok was fifth and fourth. Tom Kwok was ninth on Saturday but retired in the pits in Race Two with a technical issue.
