Wins on two continents for Honda Civic Type R TCR
Victories for the Honda Civic Type R TCR in Chinese Taipei and Italy made for another successful weekend for the JAS Motorsport-built touring car.
TCR Europe
Ruben Volt and ALM Motorsport were in control at Misano as the Estonian driver and team scored their first series pole position and victory of 2025.
Volt, a graduate of the JAS Motorsport Driver Development Programme, was untouchable through the series' first 'into-the-sunset' race on Saturday, but was denied a second strong result when he was punted off-track on Sunday's final lap.
MM Motorsport's Jacopo Cimenes completed an all-Honda front row in qualifying on what was a sensational series debut. He finished third and sixth in the two races while team-mate Marco Butti made up for a Race One non-finish with third on Sunday.
Auto Club RC2 Valles driver Felipe Fernandez was a fine fourth in Race Two while his team-mate Santi Concepcion Jr finished in the same position in Race One.
Victor Fernandez was second in the Diamond Trophy in both races and maintained his series lead. ALM's Vedat Ali Dalokay scored a best finish of 14th on his debut.
TCR Chinese Taipei
FIST-Team AAI's Shi Shiwei maintained his push for the title with a win and a second-place finish at Lihpao. He jumped the polesitter at the start of Race One but had the tables turned on him on Sunday.
Pit 58 Racing's Joe Cheng won Class C in both races to take a firm lead at the head of the standings. He beat Yishun Racing's Yuan Xinxiang on Saturday to head a Honda one-two.
Fellow Pit 58 driver Wei Shibin was second in Class B in Race One - having qualified on pole -, but was hit at the start of Sunday's race and clobbered the pitwall hard in an incident that brought out the red flags.
TCR China Challenge/TCR China
Jerry Sun took his first Challenge pole position at Zhejiang, but the Spark Racing driver was swamped at the start and recorded a best finish of fourth in Race One.
Team TRC's Euan Chan was third in Race Two while his team-mate William Cheung and Sun both retired.
In the main TCR China field, Andre Couto returned to MacPro Racing Team and briefly led Race Two before being eliminated on the first lap. He finished eighth on Saturday.
Sunday's race was notable for Norris Racing pair Siu Ming Man and Tony Chan finishing fifth and sixth in the Am class.
